A poem

angry dreams

by judester

He stacks the ragged cold case files
in dusty, dog~eared, crooked piles.

Elusive crimes, he could not solve,
yet one fills him with steel resolve.

The dead girl's body, bundled tight,
haunts his angry dreams at night.

Retirement day, he renews the chase,
slips this file to his briefcase.
