The Men In Blue

by poetsteve15

To all Law-Infocrement-Officers, God Bless and Thank you,
      The Men In Blue
       Wearing The Badge

It is highly polished and shiny and looks so nice and fine,
once you earned it; you've got to be the one to toe the line,
the minute you decide to wear it upon your own chest,
It becomes a symbol; you are among the very best.
It means honesty, integrity, and fairness to all,
your life is never your own again, but at the public's call;
neather the day or night, any hour, anytime, it makes you the mark,
it doesn’t protect you from someone’s shot; taken in the dark.
Nor does it wipe away the tears of loved ones that you cared for so much,
brothers now stand by their sides heads low; flags now lowered a touch.
Don't worry brothers in blue; your badge will never fadeaway
it was made brighter by you and them who it made for anyways.
It's often that what separates you all from the rest of the crowd,
however, it's this second family of which you are most of all proud.

It seems of late some have made a target out of law officers,
they can be out cutting the grass on their day off and get shot,
this has got to stop. Who do when you need help; If somebody
is braking into you home, who do you want to come to your aid?
If you keep killing them soon there no for you to call, nor for anyone
come to your aid, or help they'll be dead. To Our State Troopers,
The Country Sheriff’s, The Odessa Police Officers, and all the others.
Who put their lives on line each day for us. Thank you.
And God Bless you all.
