Grocery Shopping Annoys Me

by Lance S. Loria

Shopping is an annoying task,
I smile but it's just a mask.
Cruising aisle after aisle,
Feels like mile after mile.

Pick and squeeze for the ripe one,
When will this annoyance be done?
Cart loaded and ready to go,
But the check out line is so slow.

Driving home I try to relax,
Then recall a trunk full of sacks.
Grocery shopping you see,
Is really annoying to me

This is an 8 syllable per line rhyming (a, a and b, b) quatrain poem. Even the title is 8 syllables.
In truth, I am an excellent shopper; but it is still a pain in the butt!
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
