Blood on The Cross

The fish was the first Christian symbol
Blood On The Cross

Emitting forgiveness
Thorns upon His head
A Roman cross
Bears the blood of Christ

Ancient cruel persecution
A Christian symbol
Places of worship expose
The Messiah's lifeless effigy
On the altar of sorrow

Gold chains of remorse
Upon necks of devotees
Tethers them to shame
As this Roman cross
Bears the blood of Christ

I find it difficult to believe that Jesus would approve of Christians wearing the very thing He died upon. If Jesus was hanged would Christians wear nooses around their necks?
