So weird...
Billy Gets Sick
by Heather Knight
Unicorns never get sick. That's a given. Everybody knows it.
That's why, when Billy started complaining of a sore throat, his mother didn't know what to do.
There were doctors who healed magical creatures in the forest, but none of them had experience with unicorns.
'I'll make you some mint tea,' Billy's mother said. 'I'm sure that will make you feel better.'
Billy drank the tea, but it didn't help. If anything, he got worse.
'I am all shivery now, Mummy,' he complained in a very small voice.
'Don't worry. I'll knit you a scarf to tie around your neck.'
She knitted at breakneck speed. When she finished, she gave the scarf to Billy and told him to put it on.
It didn't help...
By then, Billy had started looking kind of greenish.
'Okay, let's go to the doctor's. They might give you some fairy Ibuprofen. If it works for them, it could work for you.'
The doctor was as surprised as Billy's Mum was. In his thirty years as a Magic GP he'd never seen a sick unicorn.
He asked Billy some questions about his eating habits, how much sport he practiced...
'Have you eaten any ice?' he finally asked.
At that, Billy started crying.
'My girlfriend has a cold. I must have got it from her,' he said between sobs.
'Girlfriend? So there's another sick unicorn? How very weird!'
'No, you don't understand... my girlfriend is a frog.'
And that's when Billy's mother fainted.
