What shall I have for lunch

Decisions, Decisions

by Roxanna Andrews

I can have pizza or make a stew.
A huge decision, now what to do.

The pizza is frozen, a cinch to bake
But, stew from scratch I'd have to make.

Just think of all the work involved,
Well, I think my dilemmas solved.

Though stew would be better for me,
I think pizza it will be.

I have not the time to make a stew,
Especially if there is a *roux.

It's used in fancy French cuisine
But, is it fit for human beings?

I don't speak French, so a roux is out,
Especially if it's made with stout.

Stout's a beer and I don't drink,
So that's out too, now let me think.

Perhaps a nice beef broth is best.
If I could put it to the test,

Alas, my cupboard, it is bare.
No beef broth in it anywhere.

Oh stew, why can't you make yourself?
Say, if I but had a little elf,

He'd make a stew in a jiffy,
And that would be oh so spiffy.

Sadly, no elf to make my stew,
Okay pizza, it's just me and you.
