A short story

by Sandra Elizabeth Williams

It is said a villain always returns to the scene of the crime. Knowing this, I decided a stakeout would be best. Weapon in hand, I was ready.

I didn't wait long, sure enough the fiend returned...in search of another victim, no doubt. I felt the adrenaline rush through my veins, head.

The brute closed in. I did not hesitate, I moved in for the kill. Wham! I'd missed the target! I lunged again. Bam! This time the swatter hit its target. The mosquito lay splattered on the bed, surrounded by a small crimson blob.

I'd had my revenge.
