Quite the demanding job
All In

Blue is the uniform that they wear,
"To serve and protect," the oath they swear.
But blue is also the way that they feel
when a shift renders times that are painful and real:
-A child that is beaten beyond recognition,
-A fire that is set with no sense of contrition,
-A family in crisis from brutal attack.
These scenes are their Constant;
Yet each day they go back.
Their marriages suffer,
their children do, too.
The tolls become greater;
the joys become few.
And their personal best
could just cost them their life.
So much more than a job;
it's complete sacrifice
