Free-verse, the layers of Society

Sociagna (Social Lasagna)

by Badger_29

"There's a problem with the hierarchical orientation, though. When the numbers get too big, the thing breaks down. A pecking order can hold only so many chickens" Steven Pressfield, author The author has placed a warning on this post for sexual content.

We all live in a social strata,
 mainly from
Mama and Data

   ~there exists~

a certain pecking order
(though there are other walls; borders),
that define our societal standing,
a runway with a landing

as we adopt the stance,
by chance
(some by the seat of their pants)
and we dance
to the beat
that (we?) designed,
 had in mind and/or
do we find

that Another
had us in mind . . .?

        ~amidst awkward         awareness ~

Some come to a grind-
 ing
Halt!
Through no fault
of their own

[(is time bought, or loned?)    ;    (even if they are faultless ,
one day
they'll  wish they had
bought less)]

While suchocolate malt
through a soda-shop straw,
being the "salt" ,
spilt by moral law,

"Tower Three, how is the weather"

"We don't think that You should land"

"No, but you don't understand,
I feel light as a feather,
and I have not
shirked,
but have worked
hard for the prize!

Of being not only able, but
willing to
open my eyes,
afer I rise,

~(reluctantly)~

from my
shorong
slumber

I want that landing,
so bad that I can
  taste it!
   Finally,
my chance
for that
social standing,
I simply must'nt
waste it!"

"We strongly recommend
that you do not approach,
stay aloft, don't descend,
but do add a scoche

~of~

complete understanding
before you
aim for your landing.

This is not, I repeat
Not a Test!
You simply
must do your best,
for you only get one shot.
Wipe your snot,
  your image will be
 sold and bought,
as in
days of old,

(I  could picture the dispatcher, hair shockingly, wildly red, bright eyes
full
with passionate,
rapt intensity, forehead furrowed with
"how could I have let myself get caught up in any of this whole bloody mess",
"I think I'll have that chop with a bit-o-ale for supper",
then further in,
"I  sure would fancy a go at Bobbie's Knickers"

You are

bought,

and sold!"

Thanks to Google for the image.

shorong-one of many word combinations that I utilize- short and long; as time can be perceived as both,
Suchocolate-sucking a chocolate malt through a soda-shop straw.

Whimsical notion I got tonight while warching Great Expectations,
and my mind just took off with it.
The main themes and thoughts are:

1) The social strata by which we live,
2) Do we control our lives and/or is somebody else in control?
3) this life is the only shot that we get!

Blessings,
