It was a moonlit night
by the sea.
We walked hand in hand,
floating on a cloud of desire.
Words were few and far between.
Silence magnified the sound of
our footsteps-
Or was it our heart beats?
The waves slap- slapped
as we looked into each other's eyes.
The yearning for ecstasy
still blocked all words .

On the first flush of dawn
we smiled at each other
We still do.
