Desert living can be hard

Dry Desert

by Gail Denham

Desert voices hum in harmony.
Brown antelope leap over snow
fences, then they speed away.
Such freedom makes life in
this dry land -- sand storms
howling -- lone; but
sets heart

Nonet Poetry Contest contest entry

We really like the desert- although living there would take a lot of adjustment. Yet the beauty of open spaces, rocks moving themselves over the sand, unusual creatures who find sustenance in that place - holds fascination. Thanks to the "Jump Art artist" for just the right photo.
