Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
No More...

Heart Wrenching

If I were to tell you
I can't find my heart...
It's missing in action
buried beneath broken parts.
 
Would you take out your toolbox;
use the best wrench you've got--
hook me up to jumper cables,
those special ones you bought.
 
Now that I think of it,
you don't know the tricks.
I'll take over from here… 
need to run a diagnostic.
 
The results are encouraging…
it isn't missing at all.
Some screws vibrated loose,
the connector hose is too small.
 
Scared to peek at the results…
the monitor detects a beat,
just needed a jumpstart;
living while alive, what a treat!
 
My prayers have been answered
considering alternative costs…
another year's breezed by
without permanent heart loss.
