Lord empower me to stand on my own
but know not meaning to stand alone
help me oh God to speak my truth
standing on your word and not be aloof

I don't want to stand in judgement
because every soul must repent
surround me in your holy light
as I prepare everyday for this fight

Life is and can be a struggle
filled with turmoil and strife
so many obstacles that I juggle
every incision cut like a knife

Lord I ask that you encourage my heart
so that I'm able to uplift and enlighten
give me wisdom so that I can impart
share all that I've learned that I can brighten

Please render me from this prison of doubt
dwelling in the spirit to sing and to shout
desiring assurance and confident
being compassionate and lenient

Give me strength and determination
trying not to sever any ties or relations
Lord I'm asking you to allow me to progress
as I pray for guidance on the road to success

Lord if I waver between right and wrong
please redirect this ill fated immoral path
create in me a gospel and harmonious song
Don't want to be on the end of someone's wrath

Lord you have bestowed all that I have and security
you have given me all that I crave without obscurity
It is because of your grace and mercy that I endure
all my praises to God be the glory I indeed ensure

Oh Lord when my days look bleak and dreary
ensue me touch my spirit to not become weary
If I've done someone evil or shown transgression
help me to correct my blind stupid indiscretion

Lord I am but a mere mortal and I have remorse
I look for transparency and you are my recourse
I ask you to vitalize and substantiate my weakness
showing at times my vulnerability and meekness

Then Lord when all is over said and done
I've lifted my hands and sang my last song
when all the pain of this world cease to exist
I'll abide with you in heaven and I must persist

I will spend the rest of eternity
with the angels and my deity
this is my prayer oh Lord
worshiping on one accord
