Visits Beyond Understanding

by Dawn Munro

In May of 2015 we heard that she was ill, so FanStory friends of Brooke Baldwin (Adewpearl) put together a book of well-wishes for our beloved bard. This was my contribution --

~ A Dew Pearl ~

Magnificent, a masterpiece, our Father did design:
the human spirit, full of love - yet there is none so fine
as bard who dedicates herself to rich and vibrant words,
to painting pictures of salt seas, or ageless, thund'ring herds,
or golden faces found in just a simple dandelion -
describing for the young and old, our heaven's sweet Orion.
That poet is a gemstone, sent earthbound for all mankind,
and Brooke, you are that pearl - there's just no jewel more refined.

This morning, a sparrow landed at my open window and stayed there for what must have been a full minute, singing loudly, cheerfully, beautifully. You all know I have had a pigeon and a squirrel on that same window sill, but never before a shy sparrow, and never one that seemed to sing especially for me.

I think that just as our cups can be filled with joy and love, leaving no room for hate or spite, so too, can sorrow and grief fill that cup. These have been difficult months at FanStory, and I think God sent a messenger this morning to assure us that a dear friend is safe and well.

RIP, Brooke Baldwin. You will never be forgotten.
