Nutless

by Debra White

"I'm gonna punch you in the nuts in a minute, Miss." He bellows, as he sprints off down the corridor, wielding a wooden metre ruler.

No point in trying to explain my lack of nuts, as he's mid rampage and I'm running out of steam.

Now where's he got himself hidden? Waiting to launch his next attack on me, with that measuring stick, no doubt.

In the past five minutes, he's already chucked sand, a bottle of water, a rubbish bin and two chairs at me. Fortunately, his aim is off, but where's the cavalry when I need them?

Funny thing (although it's not really all that funny) is that it's my job to keep him safe.

School wasn't like this in my day...
