One person longing for love the other not knowing

Through the glass

by Colin Lowley

You did not see me, I caught you off guard
As my mind wandered through straw covered fields
Your arm relaxed your empty embrace
Looking for answers in your swirly gig glass

For me it was love that came my way
You circled for a chair, but the vulture was me
There you were the man of my dreams
Come sit I cried in my mind, look at me

You shuffled and glanced but not my way
Am I concealed by shyness, do pray?
Do not my eyes with splendour and lady like say?
Look at me and you can have your way

Meaning, you have a chance
Where other strangers do pass on by
Never a glimpse to my forms on show
Never a sniff of my perfume so near

No doubt you will not be one of them
Come on look, why are your thoughts so deep
Their, you are looking at me
A smile, a reflection both ways does us good

A pause, a moments glance side to side
You say "hello" but in the silence of your mind
Then you rise and just walk on by
Never knowing I took this photo, alas goodbye.
