Black-bottomed clouds which badly bruised the sky
released the rain in bursts upon the street.
He hunkered as the swirling stream rushed by
his knees and over yellow-booted feet.

A finger idly traced expanding rings
as scattered rain drops dimpled placid pools.
The boy explored new worlds, saw marv'lous things
in Nature's awesome realm where wonder rules.

Do you recall your curiosity,
how fascinating bits of life you found
enthralled and left you wide-eyed constantly,
how spiders' webs or silk cocoons astound?

Let's rediscover Nature in that way
we did as children on a rainy day.
