In your loving arms

I'm Free at Last

by Janet Foor

So many things I’ve done I can’t undo.
But you, oh Lord, know all of this and more.
My many faults I leave to only you
and boldly beg forgiveness at your door.

Your everlasting love is like a bond
to hold onto when days are dark and dim.
Your mercy Lord is what I’m counting on
as troubled times before me seem so grim.

But if I choose the world and not your crown
and let these daunting quandaries win the day,
then I’m no better than the ones who frown --
without compassion, I would lose my way.

I cannot change what’s happened in the past
but in your loving arms, I’m free at last.
