Dusk in winter

by SweetStreet00

Swirling sands of winter's dusk
send pillowy dust up to purple skies
like a message to the heavens to bring out the stars
and shine down upon us, warm and wise

Snowmen raise their wooden arms
to embrace the cotton clouds above
Carrot noses sparkle with ice and dew,
and coal buttons placed by children with love

Serene, the winter creatures sleep
under pillows of frost and fading light,
until the morning daylight breaks
and warmth fills the frigid night
