Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
When someone is grieving

Being There

by June Sargent

First we have to stop the bleeding
Then discern what they are needing
Pain of loss is devastating
Through the heart so penetrating

Words of comfort they're not heeding
First we have to stop the bleeding
Sympathize with heartfelt weeping
Years of friendship now worth reaping

Deepest wounds with time starts healing
Life in turn no longer reeling
First we have to stop the bleeding
Empathy will soothe their pleading

Dark of night can be so blinding
Stars, however, always shining
Towards this light
good friends keep leading
First we have to stop the bleeding
