Believe

"Did God really say, you will surely die?"
the serpent hissing asked.
Yes, he did say that.
Did Jesus say seventy times seven forgive?
Yes, he did say that.
Did the priests shout "We have no king but caesar?"
Did the crowd yell "Not this man, give us Barabbas!"
Yes they did yell and shout that.

"Forgive them, they know not what they do!"
I believe God, I believe lovers.
