Blind Date

by miajaffri

Cierra recognized him immediately when she saw him standing outside of the exclusive Copper Restaurant. Why hadn't he gone inside, she wondered. He looked silly standing in the freezing cold without a coat, holding one red rose. She
called to him. He waved, shouted her name and ran to her. Cierra felt embarrassed by his awkwardness. He extended the rose to her, grabbed her hand and kissed it. "A pleasure to meet you," he said with a bow. She smiled but was
not amused.

Once inside, the waiter escorted them to a booth. She wanted a table. Jeffrey
motioned for her to take a seat and he sat down close beside her. Cierra felt cramped and a bit claustrophobic. When he put his arm around her, she knew she couldn't go through with the dinner. She had to get out now. Taking her purse, she excused herself to the restroom.
