A love affair doesn't always end well.

Love and Madness

by Brigitte Elko

Once a homely little lass named Cassie
talked lots of trash, was very sassy.
She dated a lad who was also bad
but when she sassed him he got very mad.

Every day they spent in fights,
both of them had lonely nights.
She missed his pure badness;
her life became grim, filled with sadness.

He'd found a pretty new girl
who was timid and shy.
He changed his ways,
became the nicest guy.

Cassie wanted to kick the girl's ass
she had nerves of steel and brass.
She went where they were about to be wed,
Pulled out a gun and shot herself dead.

The ex bad, now nice, shocked lad
cried loudly with sadness.
He ran alone into the deep woods,
moaning "Why?" in stark raving madness.
