The song of life will continue...

Your Tempo Flows

by LisaMay

Though storm may rage and autumn strip,
this forest of upraised hands leaves all doubt aside;
entwined veins, gnarled limbs,
our faithful, steadfast roots.

As rivers swirl, your tempo flows;
make me an instrument, let me play my piece.
Though one of many, I have my own true note;
your living waters nourish the music in my soul.

I throb with life, your greatest gift.
The rhythm continues within me and without me.
I’ll be a whisper on the forest breeze,
your footsteps gentle as you walk with me.

Like many people, I feel the closest connection to my Spiritual core when I am in the beauty of Nature. I have tried to show this with the first stanza reflecting that I am one of many in a long tradition, a child of nature and community, then the second stanza brings in my own individuality. The last stanza says that life will still go on after our mortal days. I haven't mentioned God, because he is a given, like breathing.
