I Sat On The Sofa

by sunnilicious

I sat on the sofa...
To watch the tv set,
But my ear had a twitch
And it started to itch
I did not have q-tips
So, I made some coffee...
Stirred in some cinnamon.
It was a tasty drink;
A daily addiction
That made me forget swabs,
Until there was no more:
cinnamon, sugar, milk.

I could not sit on the sofa...
I scrambled for car keys,
Rushed to the closest store,
And the swabs were on sale.
Crazily taken into temptation,
But somehow not a sin...
I could not wait to clean those ears;
Dirty, sticky, yucky.

One double-sided white cotton q-tip swab
Was not enough to hold earwax
Dripped, gathered, and itched...
For at least a whole month;
Two, three and somehow eight...
Eight double-sided white cotton q-tip swabs
Dearly held my earwax
Like mini marshmallows
Dipped in fresh melted caramel;
Gooey goodness.

I sat on the sofa...
To watch the TV set,
But just thought to myself,
I am quite delicious...
Two hundred ninety-two clean cotton swabs left...
And a new found craving...
But I forgot the coffee stuff.
THE END
