Night in the forest

A pale yellow, January moon hung resplendent in a clear sky. Forest paths glistened with frost. Darkness descended.
A scrawny fox howled from the pit of his empty belly.
Something stirred in the undergrowth. His tawny ears twitched.
Creeping beneath a pile of half-rotten leaves, a hungry wolf lay in wait.
By dawn, coppery -red moon rays bathed the forest in an eerie glow.
Disorientated by the mystic moonlight, the fox fell heavily to the ground.
Baring his large canine teeth, while following his nose, the wolf licked his drooling chops.
Super wolf blood moon waned. The sun rose.
