Diatelle Poetry

The Rift

by Sugarray77

Tell
me true
do you rue
parting from me
on faithless wings you flew
we were each other’s destiny
disappointment bespeaks a travesty
what blinded and put you under another’s spell
free, now, you see with lucid clarity
you’ve broken our hearts’ unity
pieces lost when winds blew
my hope mocked me
trust withdrew
as you
fell

Fictional... all is well...

Diatelle Poetry

A Diatelle has a set syllable count and a set rhyme. It must be centered for the diamond effect.

The syllable count is: 1-2-3-4-6-8-10-12-10-8-6-4-3-2-1,

The rhyme pattern is: abbcbccaccbcbba.

An easier way to construct this type of poem is to write the syllables and rhyming pattern down the page... then write your verse... for example:

1a
2b
3b
4c
6b
Etc.
