Moonlight Dew Drops

by Ima L. Ami

Drips of dew drops falling from the moonlight,
nodding in the naked morning sunbeams,
drenching fragrant petals caught in wind flight,
caught up in the sacred vice of day dreams.

Sipping from the flowers of the Springtime,
humming from the pleasures they've begotten;
speaking in their languages that know rhyme,
finding common ground that we've forgotten.

Should the moonlight's dew drops fail to find berth,
and the sun's rays scorch the tender flower,
would blackened blankets braise the burning Earth
without the shimmer in the moon drop's hour?

While in the darkest night there is despair;
the golden light of day the moon must share.
