Alicia is impatiently waiting by the bus door, chewing her gum. “Here's your stupid ring back, I'm going with Stevie now.” She slams it in my hand then struts away.
My heart shatters, until a sweet voice says, “Hi, Jaydon, can I sit beside you?”
“Sure,” ego, reinflated.
