A Sad Sonnet

by Dolly'sPoems

Those lips that spoke of love, then kissed my hand,
now spout with venom, hate and disrespect.
The atmosphere of care that had command,
has fallen to decay and in neglect.

Those charitable eyes loathe and reject,
all love and kindness quickly now dismissed.
Those arms once wrapped around me to protect,
are forcibly now threatening a fist.

The dead desires, and nights of tears are gone,
the silence of the room has peaceful cheer,
for I am lying dead from what you've done,
and all I tried to do was love you dear.

But I have no one else to blame but me,
the torment I withstood to be with thee.
