A chapter in the book Earl's Book of Lists 2

Keeping the balls in the air

by Earl Corp

Background
A book of wacky lists you can add to. I had to disable the other one I didn't check the right box.lists
Some people pointed out in my first chapter all my lists were negative. I'm trying not to be a negative person and I already had devised a positive list so I had to come up with a couple more to make it worthwhile to post again. So here we go:

5 Books I would take to a deserted island with me.

1. The 13th Valley by John Delvecchio- this is a novel of the 101st Airborne in Vietnam and one of my favorites of all time.
2. Battle Cry by Leon Uris- The Marines in World War II. The writing is so vivid when I read about the mosquitoes buzzing around them I started swatting at them in study hall in February.
3. Helter Skelter by Vincent Bulgiosi- The Charles Manson story. A change of pace from the war books.
4. Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry- Possibly the greatest western ever written. At least one of the longest.
5. The Bible- My plan is read a book, read the Bible. I've heard that every time you read the Bible you learn something new.

5 best songs on your playlist for a motorcycle ride

1. The Long Run by the Eagles- Great tune
2. Bat Out of Hell by Meat Loaf- This will get the blood pumping
3. Fire Lake by Bob Seger- No playlist is complete without a Seger tune
4. Running on Empty by Jackson Browne - If it's good enough for the Forrest Gump soundtrack it's good enough for me.
5. Born to Be Wild by Steppenwolf- The ultimate ride song.
* Honorable Mention- Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen

5 sayings which survived my discharge from the Army

1. Good to go - It means you may proceed.
2. In a heartbeat- It means I'd do it so fast your head would spin
3. That's a lick on you- Kids don't get this but it makes them stop what they're doing and stare at you.
4. What're you up to, Slick?- This also will get you some stares from kids and adults alike.
5. Squared away - You've got everything taken care of and You're Good to Go.
