A shocked nation.
The burnished face of Liberty remains stoic and calm as ICE agents swarm around her base. In a frenzied scramble, they drag and start compressors and generators. The cacophony of sandblasters and shouts of righteousness, breaks through the previously calm atmosphere.
Gritty air swirls as Liberty sadly realizes that they are sandblasting the words upon her tablet. Words of comfort and compassion, methodically disappear. Only the bare, pocked surface remains, blank and barren.
Liberty sadly watches the assault, removes her crown and slips into the New York Bay.
