Dreaming of a Different Christmas

by A. Willow Bends

I'm dreaming of a different Christmas
unlike the ones I've always had
with palm trees swaying
and children playing
with plastic buckets in the sands

I'm dreaming of a balmy Christmas
with every fiber of my soul
may my days be sunny and bright
and blue waves roll in on sands of white

I'm dreaming of a tropical Christmas
as I sip on this lovely drink
no icy highways, no closed down byways
no driveways like a skating rink

May my days be sunny and bright
and my hind end parked in sand at night
