A scary Christmas

Cyclone Owen

by Aussie

Heavy rain flowing, flooding
Trees whipping, whistling
Streams bulging, bursting
Owen gathers strength

Cars floating in brown waters
Houses open doors to flood
People rowing boats in streets
Sick and elderly wait for rescue

Families huddle evacuation haven
Foolish paddle racing rivers
Surfers stupid riding waves
Warnings given then waylaid

Never seen a cyclone so fierce
Mother Nature causes havoc
How small man against her
Fear and foreboding flourish

He hasn't crossed to land
Just a foretaste of his hand
Owen gathers strength
Crushes our precious land

Cyclone Owen was a cat. 1 cyclone that went out to sea, gathered more and more strength and now we wait for his Cat. 4 ferocious damage. Please pray for Queensland Northerners in the path of this monster. Thanks for reading.
