Oh, my dear God, I sit here on this lonely chair, soft with silence everywhere,
Wishing strong within a prayer that I might touch a heart somewhere
That these fingers find the keys that will lead some soul to bended knees
And lift a prayer of thanks to you for all their wishes that have come true.
And if somehow my words might find a pathway where their faith's inclined,
To ask you for a path well marked whereupon their soul will find no dark
But light you give will show the way to guide them where they want to stay.
