But, Your Logic is Flawed

by Sugarray77

But, your logic is flawed
if you disdain the worker bees.
Do you like to eat?
But, you despise the farmer as a rube
Yet, he rises each day
plants the seed
tends the fields
harvests the crops
Because he works, you eat... faithful
And yet you, in your quest to be chic
look down your nose.

But, your logic is flawed
when you deem a butcher a dolt.
Who is it that ensures a clean
workplace to handle the animals
that he prepares and delivers
to the cooks who create your meals;
do you do anything other than lift a fork?

But, your logic is flawed
when  you consider toiling
with sweat demeaning.
What if the workers decided to be urbane
and thought it beneath them to
get dirty when they labor?
Always looking to others to provide.
No one to work on power lines or to
build things
refusing  to work at sewer plants or
on  streets and highways.
No, to labor that way is gauche

The next time you flip a light switch,
drive on streets, or take the subway,
flush the toilet, go through construction,
buy your food, turn on the tap, service your car,
or sit down to a meal,
pause for a moment to be grateful for
the worker bees.
