Summer Memories

by Dolly'sPoems

When summer plays its warm and faithful song,
and blossom fills my heart with hopeful promise;
the air of sweet perfume is very strong,
as golden years bring memories upon us.

How rich with life the country and the parks,
the season never fails to bring me cheer,
the rooks, the pigeons, starlings and the larks,
are joyous when it is this time of year.

And everywhere I look, I see a bride,
as church bells celebrate a new beginning,
confetti floating in the breeze confides
that time is moving on as life is winning.

My seat awaits among the pretty flowers,
the oak tree shelters me from summer showers.
