What are you?

by mermaids

This white stuff falls
and covers the ground
it looks likes the bottom
of my cage

what does it feel like?
chirp, chirp, chirp
I need to eat seed!

I am called Yeti
by two large beings
who stroke my fur
and feed me treats

they point to the
white stuff outside
we watch float
in the air

crunch, crunch
oh my!
a hairy face
peers at me
through the window

he is also called Yeti
and he is not as pretty
as I am
but he laughs
at me and runs
though this fluffy
white stuff

I think this cotton
from the sky made him
and he has my name
but I am gorgeous

nibble nibble
crunch crunch

Yeti is one of our long haired guinea pigs and I think this poem reflects how she may see snow. I thought it would be fun for her to see an actual yeti. She loves to eat and is eating all the time. She also chirps like a bird and makes all kinds of weird noises. We cover the bottom of the her cage with white stuffing, so she might think snow is stuffing outside.
