A chapter in the book A Potpourri of Poetic Curiosities

Spread the word

by CD Richards

It's time for ditching enmity;

try coexisting, you and me.

We just might be surprised to see

a trend which starts internally

can spread out quaquaversally.

Today's word: quaquaversally (adv.) moving, pointing or protruding in all directions.

Have you always wanted to use the term "quaquaversally" in a poem? Me either!

Nevertheless, I'm all caught up... for the moment :)

My much-treasured Christmas present for 2017 is a book by Paul Anthony Jones: "The cabinet of linguistic curiosities". Each page contains a descriptive story about some obscure or archaic word. It occurred to me it would be a fun exercise to try and write, each day, a poem featuring the "word of the day" from the book.

Thanks for reading.
