If our two paths should cross in coming years,
I'll take your hand and gladly walk with you
To rest I'll put my many countless fears
With ease of laughter we were wont to do
 
So quickly we'll dash off to Miller’s Pond
Where we were true, unsullied, and carefree
We'll seek the grandeur of far hills beyond
For it was there we always dreamt to flee
 
Yet should our biting, grievous words once said
Mar still my dreams for this new longed-for day
Once more I'll seek to gain trust's fragile thread
With faith and mercy's love to guide my way 

          If time together will to us impart,
          Then I know mine will be a mended heart
