Holiday Prayer of Thanks

Thanks for a time to give
A holiday so festive
Thanks for God's blessings
Turkey, stuffing and dressings

Pilgrims and Indians came together as one
In the same land, when harvest was done
Thanks for the food we prepare
Delicious, tasty, wonderful fare

Thanks for this time of Thanksgiving
Our homes, family, friends, successful living
I pray for those who stand in line,
Who have nowhere to dine

We pray for those who have little or none,
Who have no holiday cheer or fun
We pray for all to one day share
Under Christ's loving care

I ring the bell for the Salvation Army, starting just before Thanksgiving and lasting until Christmas Eve. We raise donations for those who are hungry, on low-income, and in shelters. We make sure they have a wholesome, tasty meal. Thanks to helvi2 for artwork.
