A Rock-in Fall Road Trip

by Sally Law

I graduated from the Rock 'n' Roll College Of Knowledge...with honors.

Come along with my husband and me on our fall road trip and see how many song titles you spot in my story. You'll have fun while you read...I promise you!

See if you can find the 35 classic rock songs hidden on this page. Yes, there are that many!

~It was a beautiful day for a road trip. First up, with Georgia on my mind, day one was already planned. Everyday was wonderful with my love by my side. Our journey started at daybreak.

For what it's worth: Load your GPS coordinates before you leave! Get together road maps that can be purchased at a convenience store. I'm a believer in fail-safe plans.

It was a little too early to listen to the music, so we caught the morning news.

I yawned. "Is there coffee somewhere in our future?"

Jackson replied, "Always. Give me just a little more time. It's not even 7:00. Sooner or later we'll sight a Cracker Barrel."

" I knew I should have brought my travel mug! If only," I said.

"It's too late to turn back now, my love! You make me smile with your coffee pleas! Not much longer," said Jackson.

We had already crossed the Georgia border sailing into the early morning light in our hybrid Ford. We sighted a small diner off a country road called, "Alice's Restaurant." A quaint little restaurant, we couldn't resist its charm. Of course, we had to stop.

We were feelin' alright after a hearty brunch. Jack thought we could make it to Massachusetts by the end of the third day. I was anxious to see the dirty water of the Charles River in Boston. We were trying to log 500 miles on day one as we headed north. I hoped we could do it.

It was a lazy day as we motored along the carefree highway. One fine day!

Jackson and I stopped at antique shops and little mom-and-pop establishments all the way to Boston. Spending the weekend in New England was glorious! Autumn was in full display.

The old songs played on satellite radio, making the road trip last in our hearts--always and forever.~
