A realization about promises.

Broken You

Your offering a comely pledge
Obscured the edge
You gave no clue
On glass you drew


I stood upon this oath secured
My heart assured
But when I spoke
Your promise broke


In shattered pieces on the ground
Your truth was found
You can't be true
You're broken too
