This work has reached the exceptional level
It's all around me

Life Is My Muse

My Muse Contest Winner 
Life is what inspires me,
the simple act of living.
Everything around me,
love and hate...
Well,
That's a given.
Things that I see everyday,
things I overhear.
Emotions that can overwhelm,
sadness, hope and fear.
My son who struggles everyday,
with mental illness will 
inspire me to write 
about our life
since he's been ill.
The joy my family brings to me,
each and everyday.
Inspires my poetic soul,
gives me so much to say.
Even strangers that I meet
bring out the muse in me.
I want to know their stories,
I'm too curious you see.
So when I put pen to paper
and my words begin to pour,
It's then that I am most at peace.
It's then my heart can soar.
