rhyme

Breakfast with Friends

by mermaids

every other Friday, breakfast with friends
talk of what bothers, hearts on the mend

stresses of life, work and family
pancakes, strawberries, feeling free

comfort food, good company for awhile
chatting over luscious delights bring a smile

laughter emerges with syrup, whip cream
coffee, tea, muffins, oh what a dream

we retreat back to the world of reality
but again we will return to yummy glee

Every other Friday, I have breakfast with a group of my co-workers. We call our group Breakfast with Friends. We have been meeting for a couple of years now and thought our group deserved a poem. Most of us are nurses who work at the same nursing home.
