my husband and I

The Chef and the Pill Lady

by mermaids

the aroma of chicken
soars through the house
food for the weary nurse
he creates the cuisine
while I sort his meds
in harmony we thrive
our roles unique
but love prevails
as we laugh
at our duties

My husband made a remark the other day that he is the chef and I am the pill lady. Every night I gather the meds he needs to take at bed time. So of course, a poem arises.
