This work has reached the exceptional level
Companion wanted

Mortimer

I’m Mortimer, an older gent,
and, I am told, intelligent.
I’ll treat you with utmost respect,
If I’m the one that you select.
 
I like to snooze in sunlit doors
where I can stretch out my all fours.
There’s surely room enough for two.
Come live with me – I’ll share with you.
 
We’ll play with toys, and hide and seek.
I’ll always listen when you speak.
If what you want’s companionship
to travel with on life’s sweet trip,
 
I might just be the one you’ve sought.
Let’s meet real soon. What have you got
to lose besides a couple hours.
I’ll bring bouquets of catnip flowers.
