Forever War

Emily scrolled through her Facebook page. Her dad, Peter, by the telly, watched the commemoration for the guys at Amiens a hundred years ago.
"Just think, Emily," he said, "without brave men like grandad, we wouldn't have our freedom ."
Emily rolled her twenty-something eyes.
She glanced at boyfriend Jamie's page. Dressed in army fatigues, he was off to join the British Army.
"Never," Emily exclaimed, surprised. "No, it can't be," she sobbed, "isn't war just for old fogies?"
