Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
The jet engine

A Historical Perspective

I walk as individual.
Internally, I emphasize this.
I am. Will be.

So,
when the self
suddenly leaves-

Such as,
at moment of take-off
jet plane

Exhilaration
Power
Trap doors shut
Wind-mind diverted

And as we rise,
I become something else
A part of...

A part of us
Of history
The nascense
of jet engines

WWII
I see the Messerschmitt Me 262
The precipice
As my Nazi jet engine
lifts me skyward

The sacrifice of all before
I am humbled
Strangely, peace fills me

And I become...
a nation
I am America

Strange to have this poem erupt from me
during take-off.
All governments are inherently evil.

But the principles, upon which this country was founded,
bear witness to humanityâ??s endless struggle for justice.
