Free verse: on Intensity

Two in Tents

by Badger_29

"From my point of view it is immoral for a being not to make the most intense effort every instant of his life" Jose-Ortega y Gasset

Living in tents-
the evidence
 of the fence
that
represents a defense
of the arguments
about the arrangements
of luxuries we spent
our money on

As they raise the rent,
 at our expense

We had a humble abode
on Entropic Road
 but,
as we towed the load
and inflation
deflated our mode,
everything
went into
the commode.

Take into account
the fact
 that as the economy
crumbled and cracked,
 the system was hacked
by a hacker with tact
and the deck
was stacked

And I was backed
up financially
(and digestlvely,)
so I
 racked my mind
 for a way to sustain
the life we had gained

But,
as that chapter waned,
thunder cracked
and it rained;
while anarchy reigned,
 I was shifting again-

 like the restless wind
 that blew through the city
 that was no longer pretty
and the wind made
my mouth eyes
and mind gritty

We bickered and fought
over the nick-nacks we bought
getting direly distraught
 we got caught
up
and things got intense

So, in our defiance,
we built the fence
that represents
our reprehensible
comments

Then bought some tents,
and now
we are separate,
together in Tent City,
two in tents

entropy, ies, ic-
a : the degradation of the matter and energy in the universe to an ultimate state of inert uniformity

"Entropy is the general trend of the universe toward death and disorder"
James R. Newman

b : a process of degradation or running down or a trend to disorder

"The deterioration of copy editing and proof-reading, incidentally, is a token of the cultural entropy that has overtaken us in the postwar years" John Simon

Thanks Google for the image, and life for it's
sheer intensity~

Blessings
